Transformer and HTC Thunderbolt:
The Asus Transformer is different from the HTC Thunderbolt in that it has a dock station so for $150 extra it turns into a netbook with a keyboard if you want more than just a touch screen. It is longer, bulkier and heavier. It has a 10.1 inch screen where the Thunderbolt has a 4.3 inch screen. The transformer is wifi and the Thunderbolt is an Verizon cellular.
Android is a software stack for mobile devices which includes operating system and middleware. It is a modified version of Linux Kernel. The Android 3.0 gives features like customize home screen with 3-D improvements to the Web Browser and high performance 2D & 3D graphics, redesigned widgets and multitasking notifications.

iPhone and iPad 2 different from Droid device.
The iPhone and iPad are Apple devices and use the Apple operating system where a Droid device operates on an Android system. The Android platform may appeal more to people who want to customize their phones.
Mifi:
Mifi is a line of wirless routers. It picks up the 3G or 4G phone networks and turns that signal into a Wifi signal that any Wifi device can detect. Mobile hotspot lets you connect a computer with your smartphone to share internet connection.
4G: Is the 4th generation in mobile wireless data technology, 4G gives high quality audio and video streaming and is 10 times faster than 3G. 4g networks use different wireless technology depending on the carrier. 4G allows for much faster download and upload speeds as well as mobile video chatting.
Communication today:
Communication has changed today mainly because one can communicate almost anywhere they are without the need of a land line. The camera and video capabilities gives a more face to face feeling to communication. Corporate America can now do video conferences with businesses all over the world. In education, students can collaborate with other students across the US or even the world. Teachers can also collaborate and share ideas and lessons easier than ever. Communication, ability to share documents and ideas is faster and more personal than ever before.
APP:
App is an application or software for smart phones and other mobile devices.
There are 425,000 apps available for iPhone/iPad. The Droid operating system has apps has 200,000 as of May 2011.
Apptivity:
An apptivity is a learning activity based on the use of one or more iPhone or iPad apps. It can be used in education for a quick activity or a full lesson.

I didn't realize that the Mifi was translating a cellular signal into a WiFi signal. I guess I thought they were the same. Thanks
